Description
Rear Brake Pads (Full set for Rear Axle).
Full set of brake pads for one axle (2 wheels).
Brake pads are a vital component of a vehicle’s braking system helping to stop a car in motion.
What do brake pads do:
When the brakes are hydraulically applied, the caliper clamps or squeezes the two pads together into the spinning rotor to slow/stop the vehicle.
How long do brake pads last:
There is no definitive answers to this question because it depends on your style of driving ie fast sharp stops, the quality of the road you drive on type of brake pad you are using etc But mechanics estimate brake pads generally last between 25000 and 60000 miles.
What are brake pads made of:
There are 3 different types of brake pads.
Semi Metallic brake pads, these are made from different metals bonded together with resin, they are efficient widely available and cheap to purchase. They last longer than Organic pads because they are made from metal. However because they are metal they also wear down the brake discs.
